Military Sealift Command’s Logistics department is a branch of of the Supply department along with the Culinary department. Knowing where everything is on-board one of our vessels is a big responsibility that will test your organizational skills. Logistics personnel are responsible for performing inventory, and for storekeeping duties such as cargo handling, record keeping receipt, and stowage and issuance of all stores. More importantly you are responsible for proper receipt, stowage, distribution and transportation of fleet cargo, mail freight, personal affects, and unaccompanied baggage, as well as tracking shipboard hazardous material. This department also cleans and maintains the staterooms and passageways, and is responsible for the ship’s laundry.
