All positions in the Logistics Department are civil service mariners (CIVMARs) employed by the Navy to serve the Military Sealift Command (MSC) onboard naval auxiliaries and hybrid-manned warships worldwide, in peace and war. MSC exists to support the joint warfighter across the full spectrum of military operations. MSC provides on-time logistics, strategic sealift, as well as specialized missions anywhere in the world, in contested or uncontested environments.
MSC offers our CIVMARs the opportunity to take command of their career by providing training and the ability to acquire on the job training. With the personal drive and investment of time, CIVMARs can work with the help of their placement and training specialist to advance their career from entry level to the Supply Officer or any path in between. This career pathway demonstrates what that looks like for the logistics positions.
